About She's Mine
She’s Mine combines electronic, gothic-grandeur and porcelain-tenderness, to deliver Alt Pop, Edm - and the occasional R&B - that embraces feeling “other”.
Pansexual and ADHD, American-born, Scottish-raised and now Edinburgh based, she explores dark lyrical themes of misogyny, love, loss and her experience of feeling outcast, but with sparks of light.
Moving often in her youth, She’s Mine found that cultural differences, her then un-diagnosed neurodivergence and being a late bloomer, often put her at odds with her peers. Writing songs helped her process her struggles with fitting in.
After moving from San Francisco, California, to Edinburgh, Scotland, at the age of six, She’s Mine began playing the violin. During her first year of high school, she unexpectedly discovered a passion for singing when she spontaneously auditioned for a school concert and landed a role.
She quickly immersed herself in music, joining the school choir and orchestra and eventually becoming the lead singer of the school jazz band, performing at local festivals and concerts. At fifteen, following a move back to Scotland, she auditioned for the City of Edinburgh Music School. Despite being rejected twice, she persevered and was accepted on her third attempt.
As her musical interests evolved, she found herself increasingly drawn to pop and jazz rather than classical violin. She began using violin as a songwriting tool, helping her develop melodies for her own music. She later went on to graduate with a First Class Honours degree in Popular Music from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
Birthed from inspirations such as FKA Twigs and Billie Eilish her second single 'Freak!' won her the Mayor of Manchester's Artist of the Month in December of 2023 and a play on BBC Radio 6Music.
She is now releasing her first completely self-written, recorded, produced and mixed alternative pop album 'Fresh Meat' blending indie pop, hyperpop and drum & bass to examine patriarchy, privilege, internalised misogyny and mental health in the shadow of the American Dream.
Confidence-boosting and cathartic, ‘Fresh Meat’ draws influence from Self-Esteem, Lorde, Kenya Grace and Charli xcx to deliver a blunt, emotionally-charged and ultimately healing experience which swings from scream-along club anthems to catwalk-inducing earworms and intimate moments of hard-won self-assurance.

Propelled by hopeful, fairy-like synths and chopped-up vocals which urge you to move, electro-pop ‘Bitter’ follows the rage-filled internal narrative that occurs when we encounter people of privilege crediting fate or manifestation rather than the systems of power that gave them a leg up. Heavily electronic, feel-good and cathartic, ‘Bitter’ vents what we wish we could say while also looking inwards.

A scream-along club anthem with a hip-swaying beat, pulsing bass, bratty pop attitude and queer-club energy built for confidence-boosting nights out and fans of bold, alternative dance-pop like Charli xcx, Cobrah and Shygirl. 'Pigtails' challenges the objectification of women's bodies by questioning why some feminine traits are celebrated while others are mocked or fetishised, turning that frustration into a club chant for confidence and catharsis.

Album
A temporary detour from her usual Alt Pop, She's Mine explores her adoration for R&B and Rap with her biggest collaboration yet. 'Come Back Around' being the first of eight songs now to come on the tenth of every month, She's Mine and Planet w.e.s.m.o, share their favourite songs from two years of writing together just for fun. With faint echos of both 90s R&B, Hip Hop and modern Pop influences, throughout the album they detail the flip-flop of feelings before an inevitable break up. Inviting friends and local artists to feature and co-write with them, this album serves as an exciting "time-capsule" of work championing other artists at grass-roots.

Straight off of your post-break-up playlist, ‘Closed Doors’ by She’s Mine details how some relationships don’t feel as perfect from behind closed doors. Electronic embellishments evoke a haunted melancholy, which is propelled by trap beats, before falling headlong into intense synths. Local MC ‘Planet w.e.s.m.o.’ thunders in to reinforce anger and heartbreak, bubbling over into desolate resolve.
When the Lights Go Out

With firm feet planted in both EDM and Alt Pop the third single from She’s Mine “When the Lights Go Out” details her experience of the right person at the wrong time. Like Mimi Web turned INZO, this song tells the story of yearning for someone who has moved on, opening into an explosive instrumental hook. Aptly described as ‘Bedroom EDM’ the lyrics “When the lights go out all I want is you, I want us dancing dirty in a crowded room” paint a picture for the listener of lying in bed overthinking everything that could have been, and to memories of a night out with someone they once loved, longing for a romance that is now gone.

This anthemic second single from Edinburgh artist She’s Mine says f*ck you to social exclusion. A sonic fusion of FKA Twigs, Billie Eilish and Grimes this song has a feeling of moving forward, finally accepting the parts of yourself that make you feel alien. Deeply electronic and brooding, the song evokes images of sitting on a gloomy moving train, travelling back home after a long trip away from familiarity. Reverb drenched and emotionally rich, the song opens out into an infectious EDM hook.
